Characteristics

Most sour cherry varieties grow very strongly and are only moderately fertile when standing on their own root. The variety 'Schattenmorelle' shows a significant decrease of the growth rate instead. The trees are compact and very fertile and well suited for hand picking.

Also suitable for dry and more light soils. Good frost hardiness.
