Trees - Climate and soil

The climate of the wine region between Rhine and Moselle in the western  part of Germany is characterised by sparse rainfall during the summer. The average of the annual precipitation level is about 500-600 mm/m². The average annual temperature is 10,8 °C. Our local climate supports an early maturing of the wood and tree healthiness during cultivation.

There is a high content of pumice in the volcanic weathered soils in this area, which promotes good aeration. Additionally our soils feature high water storage capacity and fast heating. Therefore they provide ideal conditions for the cultivation of stone fruit trees.
