Kioto (S)
Apricot, Prunus armeniaca
This very productive variety has a secure regular high yield and outstanding fruit qualities. The fruits impress with their bright colouring.
The blossoms are very resistant to frost damage. Kioto (S) is a high-yielding variety that fruits also on one year shoots. To avoid exhaustion of the trees a regular pruning of fruit bearing wood and also fruit thinning is required for this self-fertile variety. Annual too high yields in successive years can lead to tree loss.
Slightly negative characteristics of this variety are the high susceptibility to winter frost damage of the wood and the tendency to grow twin-fruits.
