Tree nursery
Quality through high standards
By professionals for professionals!
We are passionate about stone fruit. Thanks to decades of our own cultivation experience and close cooperation with growers, we can share important insights into cultivation, care, and planning for new plantings.
Our range of sweet cherries, plums, apricots, peaches, and nectarines covers the entire ripening period for each type of fruit. We also offer Japanese plums, chestnuts, elderberries, greengages, mirabelle plums, and, in the future, pears.
What sets our tree nursery apart
Tree qualities
The quality of our trees reflects our commitment to high-quality, healthy produce. Through a series of precise processes and a high degree of manual labor, our one- to two-year-old fruit trees are classified into four quality levels.
Whether spindle, Drapeau, or UFO systems: our classification system enables us to always offer the most suitable growth forms and strengths.
I+ Sorting
- At least six side shoots with even distribution
- Strong tree with very well-branched crown
- Well suited for spindle training, Drapeau systems, V-shaped
- One-year grafting, trunk height approx. 60 cm
- Knip trees: two-year-old tree with 1-year-old crown, trunk height 60-80 cm
I. Sorting
- Three to six side shoots evenly distributed
- Strong tree with well-branched crown
- One-year-old graft, trunk height approx. 60 cm
- Knip trees: two-year-old tree with 1-year-old crown, trunk height 60–80 cm
II+ Sorting
- Up to three side shoots, uneven or one-sided branching.
- Good, strong tree with only uneven branching.
- One-year grafting, trunk height approx. 60 cm.
- Knip trees: two-year-old tree with 1-year crown, trunk height 60-80 cm.
- Well suited for plantations and cultivation systems in which training measures are carried out or required (e.g., UFO plantations)
II. Sorting
- Tends to be sparse to unbranched
- Tree is slightly smaller overall
- Copes well with moderate to difficult planting conditions and provides better growth results in drier regions
Main delivery in autumn
4 reasons why we prefer main delivery in autumn:
Better adaptation to the new location
The trees have more time to get used to the new soil and climate.
Less stress, fewer losses
Thanks to the rest period, the plants recover more quickly and grow steadily.
More time before the first shoots appear
In spring, there is only a short window of opportunity – planting in autumn offers planning security.
Optimal root development in winter
Something is happening underground too: the roots continue to grow in winter – invisible, but effective.
Important storage information
Temporary storage in a cold storage facility is possible and sometimes unavoidable in certain regions due to weather conditions in the fall. If this is necessary, it is important to keep the roots moist while ensuring good ventilation. We strongly advise against storing them in the same cold storage facility as fruit and vegetables. When planting in the spring, it is important to prune them appropriately.
