Fruit production - History

Gräb Nursery emerged out of a fruit growing farm with poultry production that was founded in the 1950s. The original business farmed a land of 3 hectares. An extensive range of berries, stone and pome fruit was cultivated for direct marketing. Today an area of 4 hectares is used as an experimental site for new varieties and rootstocks from around the world to check for their suitability to the local climate. Due to this change the commercial fruit production receded to the background.
